I don’t feel like I’ve been alive 40 years. Then again being ADHD no doubt, I lose track when counting..particularly when counting years.
While looking online for pictures of Fontainebleau Academy (where I studied music at she 17) I came across something I’d never seen before. A picture from 40 years ago, when I was a student. BLEW MY MIND! (We needed cameras, as opposed to cell phones to take pics bsck then. I have only a handful of photos from my youth.
So…just in time for Throwback Thursday, (or whatever it’s called,) here’s my version of a flashback to France in 1974…
I acknowledge that this is a totally self indulgent post. That being said, this is the piece I played for my audition on my first day (after being chased by a bat in my bedroom) when Mlle invited me to stay and study with her in Paris at the end of the summer session. (Clearly this is not me playing!)
It was nowhere near as complicated a piece as what all the others were playing. I guess she liked my technique “sensitivity”. (Her word, not mine.) The only other student she asked to remain, did so and ended up doing world concert tours.
I declined, not wishing to waste her valuable time, as I wanted to be an singer and actress. I have No Regrets Whatsoever ! I was honored to have been asked.
Here I am decades later taking up that torch once more…

Haha Mario is my fiance 😉
And it is your blog! You’re allowed to be self indulgent 🙂
I live runs down memory lane, plus yours has pictures, even better!
Thanks. I think the pics are so much easier!!
Good point about it being my blog. I’m too old to be playing it safe and I’ve given up far too much.
Yes, I was just thinking that.
But I call it my bullshit meter. It no longer functions lol Brain to mouth filter stopped a while ago 🙂
Mine too. Ever since I told my fourth grade teacher (in Catholic school) to “go to hell!” But she wasn’t supposed to hear me. Lol
Lol oh dear
She was a BULLY though. She relished in humiliating little kids. The best part? I had to write a Mr home explaining what I said. (My parents knew she was a bully. ) I caught them laughing about it that night and then pretended to be upset. It was a victory in my eyes.
Lol That’s so funny and good that you’re parents thought it was funny too!
It was great! They tried to hide it. But dad commented that she really want a very nice lady. But it was wrong to tell people to “go to hell”.
I love your new pic btw!
Thanks, that’s just me fooling around at the OzComicCon 😉 Can’t take me anywhere.
So heart catching up with you! I’ve been in the tub for over an hour. Getting pruney and cell is low. Have a great day. Good luck on your test. Looking forward to reading your other post… got 4 hours sleep last night. Fading fast. 🙂 night SHARN!
